Raine
I have compiled biography information about Raine
from different sources on the web.
With irrepressible artistry, energy and a sense of fun, artist
and sculptor Raine is always coming up with new ways to fascinate
and delight us with her miniature shoes and furniture. Her talent
for creating the look of leather, fabric and tiny stitching is a
hallmark of her designs-and the sign of an authentic Raine creation.
In her latest collection, Raine supports a cause that's close to
her heart: endangered animals. Through these irresistible RaineForest™
styles, Raine is proud to support the National
Wildlife Federation® and its efforts to protect our endangered
species. The new RaineDrops™ collection celebrates
childhood, while the latest Raine Originals™ include the glittering
stardust Memories and the beautiful floral shoe, Courageous Rose,
which is dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
Raine's collaboration with Beverly Feldman, the extraordinary shoe
designer, continues with the Frankie & Baby™ collection. Don't miss
the story behind these fabulous designs under the Beverly Feldman
Biography.
Hearing about collector' memories and interests inspired Raine
to create new styles like the Classic Collection's and Bobby Soxer.
Right on the heels of debut of the Mount Vernon®
and Biltmore Estate® Just the Right Shoe
collections, Raine has also sculpted historically accurate miniatures
of furniture for the Take A Seat™ collection.
As you stroll through Raine's miniature masterpieces, enjoy the

The inventive artist Raine has discovered a unique formula for
success. Combining a background of formal artistic study with a
vivid imagination and a flair for social commentary, she has received
broad recognition in the art world.
Growing up in southern New Jersey, Raine always knew that she was
meant to be an artist. While just a toddler, she announced to her
family her dream to become an artist.
At the age of 8, Raine's talent was beginning to emerge. Her teacher
noticed her artistic flair and recommended that she take private classes,
which she continued to do throughout her high school education. After
high school, Raine won a full scholarship to attend the University
of the Arts in Philadelphia, studying anatomy and the human form.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration;
the culmination of years of concentrating on painting and drawing,
but Raine soon felt the constraints of working in only two dimensions,
and instead turned to sculpture.
Raine pursued an interest in large, freestanding sculpture. Soon
she became so accomplished that she won several commissions, creating
pieces for schools, parks and businesses throughout the States.
Launched in 1998, the collection was an immediate success on both
sides of the Atlantic. In 1999 the collection was awarded the "Best
New Collectable of the Year" by the British Guild of China and Glassware
Retailers, whilst Raine was awarded the "Rising Star" award from
the USA-based National Association of Limited Edition Dealers, who
also awarded the "Collectable of the Year" award to the brand in
2000. The first Just The Right Shoe to be sculpted - Ravishing Red,
now retired
Raine's whimsy, historical insight and sculpturally realistic style
are combined in the creation of Just The Right Shoe; miniature collectables
which honour and memorialise the great creations in women's fashion
throughout history.
Just the Right Shoe is a childhood dream come true for Raine, who
dreamt of
becoming an artist from a very early age. Formal training at the University
of the Arts in Philadelphia Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration
saw Raine embark upon her chosen career. Sculptural form soon beckoned
and it was not long before her interest in fashion merged with her
art and Just the Right Shoe - a collection of miniature shoes emerged.
Launched in 1998 Just the Right Shoe was an immediate success on
both sides of the Atlantic. Scooping prestigious industry awards
including 'Best New Collectable of the Year', the 'Rising Star'
award and 'Collectable of the Year' - Raine had discovered the secret
to success: love what you do and do what you love!
Starting life as a collection of just 18 shoes Just the Right Shoe
has now matured into a sculptural representation of the changing
face of fashion throughout history.
Inspiration can come like a bolt from the blue - a memory jogged
may result in a Raine original such as the Leopard Stiletto based
on a shoe owned by Raine's sister, or a research trip to the museum
could produce an historical design.
Everyone's favourite era, fashion and style is captured in these
miniature masterpieces, which can be collected and enjoyed forever.
